    Function Description

    We are looking for a creative, articulate, and organized Prototype Project Manager to help develop the future of air travel at Collins Aerospace. In this role, the Prototype Project Manager will report to the Associate Director of Customer Experience and Design (CXD) and manage the progress of prototype development and delivery of new concept products and integrated technology solutions. As part of the team, you're ambitious, self-motivated, and driven to work with our teams of designers and builders to manage the execution of functional product solutions that provide value to our customers, inspire business growth, and create desirable and differentiated passenger experiences. 

    The CXD team collaborates with various business teams within Collins Aerospace, including Business Development, Strategy, Advanced Technology groups, and cross-functional engineering and prototype teams. We identify and create compelling products and experiences for our worldwide customer base. 

    Prototype Project Manager responsibilities:

    • Manage prototype activities across the CXD sites to deliver accurate, high-quality proof concept validation solutions for internal and external presentations.
    • Business lead for all incoming projects and deliverables.
    • Lead project planning - timelines, budgets, resource planning, material purchasing, and outside vendor engagement. 
    • Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, shop leads, and outside resources to troubleshoot and resolve design and build issues. 
    • Coordinate with shop leads to develop and maintain build schedules.
    • Champion excellence in facility maintenance, professionalism, and safety procedures.
    • Develop future prototype capabilities and skill strategies roadmap. 
    • Communicate accomplishments, and project progress, conducting technical reviews and aligning scope changes within project and leadership teams.
    • Support other Advanced Technology teams and business unit needs by providing technical expertise and initial prototype approach to challenging projects and project management support strategic initiatives and activities.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    • Leading complex, strategic prototyping programs, and product development projects in a large organization
    • Demonstrate technical competency by leading prototype development reviews and highlighting technical project requirements and how to maintain product design intent using existing and advanced prototype techniques.

    Qualifications We Value:

    • Experience leading projects and team(s) successfully achieving strategic value-added products and technology solutions.
    • Experience with advanced technical integration, working with Industrial Design and engineering teams, CAD models and drawings, and material specifications.   
    • Broad knowledge of material uses and finishes: Composites, Metals and Polymers, Anodization, Coatings, and Films. 
    • Formally identifies, assesses, monitors, and mitigates program-related risks and dependencies throughout the project.
    • Experience preparing and presenting technology, project status, and roadmap planning reviews. 
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
    • Excellent organization and technical writing skills, using O365, MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint efficiently. 
    • CAD skills in Siemens NX, Rhino, or other is a plus.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

    The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
