    Collins Aerospace is looking for a Purchasing Team Leader who will be able to provide support, development, and organization to a team of Buyers in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment. You will be supporting the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) facility. You will help ensure that supply chain activities such as placing purchase orders and managing supplier relationships are effective and executed by the team. You will interact with multiple programs, departments and suppliers. In addition, you will play a key role in developing and leading Buyers.

    Position will be working onsite at our Foley, AL MRO facility. Relocation assistance is available.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Leads a team of Buyers to ensure the procurement cycle from purchase request to payment of invoice is effective and compliant
    • Ensures team targets and goals are achieved
    • Coordinates staffing coverage of programs by Buyers
    • Responsible for team compliance, processes, procedures, and training requirements
    • Helps identify and mitigate supply risks
    • Lead and coordinate negotiations of supplier agreements
    • Monitor and facilitate supplier selection and supplier management processes
    • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a skilled team
    • Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance on developmental opportunities for team
    • Leads and support strategic projects in support of facility and company goals
    • Create and present metrics and supporting reports and presentations to internal customers, suppliers, peers, and managers
    • Able to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit
    • Performs other duties as required

    Basic Qualifications

    • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
    • Experience with supplier management
    • Experience with purchasing processes
    • MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Documented proficiency in Excel creating formulas and creating PowerPoint
    • Experience using an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
    • Able to communicate and presenting precise information to internal/external customers and leadership
    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or relevant field preferred
    • SAP Experience
    • Ability to negotiate, troubleshoot and problem solve
    • Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with all levels of internal and external customers and suppliers
    • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
    • Self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed
    • Able read, write, speak & understand the English language
