Summary

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Engineer (P3). The person in this role will bring experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS), AS9100/9110, RCCA, Data Analysis, Technical Review, as well as FOD program. You will also be the process owner of Columbus Engine Centers Internal Audit Program as well as the Foreign Object Prevention Program. This position will support other QMS areas like, Non-conformances, External Audits, and Documented information.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Define, plan, and execute Internal Audit program in support of an AS9110 Quality Management System.

• Analyzes and makes recommendations for the implementation and execution of the Foreign Object Detection and Prevention Program.

• Provides research and guidance for root cause analysis & problem solving in escape management procedures.

• Identify systemic issues and develops quality initiative strategies and addresses with key proactive quality tools (https://e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), driving their implementation.

• Conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities.

• Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.

• Analyzes quality activities to identify systemic issues and enable development of specific quality initiative improvements and strategies.

• Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation.

• Promote the Quality culture in the business, through compliance to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules.

Basic Qualifications:

• Advanced degree and 3+ years Engineering of experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry experience; OR an Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate or similar technical training and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School Diploma 9+ years of relevant industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in STEM field; Engineering field preferred.

• Lead Auditor experience and advanced knowledge of AS9100/AS9110 standards and audit process. Certification a plus.

• Experience working directly with auditors, regulators, and internal customers.

• Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) for aircraft engines and CFR 145

• LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience.

• Strong Root Cause Analysis experience, able to lead product or process non-conformance investigations (https://i.e., DIVEs).

• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.

• Advanced Data Analysis and Excel skills.

• Organizational, planning and project management skills.  Certification a plus.

• Experience working with Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.

• Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to motivate teams to achieve business goals.
