Our Collins Aerospace facility is looking for its newest Quality Engineer in Spokane, WA. This role performs essential duties as member of the Spokane Carbon Quality team, acting as focal for manufacturing issues, product review and disposition, corrective action implementation, and process improvements. Employee will be asked to work independently most of the time, with guidance and timelines, to meet objectives and deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
Leads collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources to develop quality strategy and programs.
Drives quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
Provides expertise in production process analysis, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for key quality improvements.
Participate in Continuous Improvement and activities.
Develops and implements Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.
Develops organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving and directs implementation.
Train site personnel in quality concepts, changes in process, improvement projects, and other related topics.
Assist in the development of Quality procedures and processes to improve product quality, increase departmental efficiency, reduce/eliminate inefficient processes.
Ability to measure, analyze and assess complex processes.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior engineering (quality or manufacturing) experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of quality engineering (quality or manufacturing) experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant engineering (quality or manufacturing) experience
Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action management
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing in aerospace, aviation, or automotive industry
Experience with Lean management tools
Auditing experience with AS9100
Experience in measuring and reporting key quality characteristics and objectives including PPM, COPQ, product testing, etc.
Experience documenting with MES/SAP or similar tool as well as experience creating Corrective Action Reports.
