    Department Overview:

    Engineering Product Integrity is looking for a System Safety and Reliability engineer to work on the next generation of Pratt & Whitney military aircraft engines. The engineering position will focus on analysis of the system design and establishment of requirements that drive safety and reliability into the design to ensure the safety of P&W products is world class. The safety and reliability engineer will be responsible for technical development of model based systems safety analysis that demonstrates that the system design meets safety and reliability requirements and serves as evidence for certification and/or acceptance by the regulator or acquiring authority. The position will enable the (MBSE) Model Based Systems Engineering acceleration on advanced engine development programs by supporting development of Model Based Safety Analysis (MBSA) solution applying industry best practices like ARP4761, ARP4754, and MIL-STD-882. The candidate should have experience in the Systems Engineering activities through the life cycle such as requirements development, system design, verification planning and testing, etc****.**** The selected candidate will be a core member of a fast paced, engine product development team and work both independently and as part of team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaboration with systems, designers and design partners to develop, benchmark and implement and integrated MBSE.
    • Investigate existing safety analysis tools to digitally connect, store, and integrate critical safety deliverables into MBSE tool suite
    • Lead Safety discussions with design teams to help identify, design, and build highly complex and integrated models which describe the safety behaviors of the engine system. 
    • Develop high quality reliability and safety artifacts such as FMECA , Reliability and Safety Metric Prediction Models, Fault Tree Analysis and Hazard Analysis.
    • Lead Safety and Reliability customer technical interchange meetings, Safety Working Group Meetings, driving reliability and safety in subsystem IPT, CIPT and SIPT integration activities and reviews with internal and external customers and air system contractors

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
    • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or 3+ years with an advance degree
    • US Citizenship required due to government contract
    • DoD Security clearance or the ability to obtain one

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with military aircraft and or engine engineering processes is preferred. 
    • Ability to use Cameo Systems Modeler, Microsoft Office tools and electronic databases to perform quantitative reliability and safety analysis is preferred.
    • Comfortable with identifying and solving problems.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
