Summary:
Perform Repair Source Approval (RSA) activities at various repair sources (internal and external, domestic and international, commercial and military). This position is primarily focused on the review and approval of coating processes used in the repair of turbine engine hardware, as well as related processing (e.g. cleaning, grit blasting, chemical stripping).
Responsibilities:
Review and qualification of suppliers' repair processes and documentation to ensure that they meet the requirements of ODA-approved technical data
Interface with appropriate stakeholders (e.g. supplier engineers, Aftermarket Sustainment Engineering, Aftermarket Operations, Quality, and Procurement teams), as needed, to complete initial approvals, changes and processing variations.
Analysis and documentation of data/results to substantiate qualification of processes
Conduct periodic review of sources for continued adherence to fixed RSA processes and requirements of repair technical data
Update and create standard work, as appropriate
Participate in RSA Discipline meetings to gain efficiencies, communication and ensure alignment among practitioners
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in engineering, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 7 years experience in a materials processing, manufacturing, quality, and/or process approvals roles.
Prior process experience with one or more coating methods and familiarity with other processes used in the repair of turbine engine hardware.
Prior aftermarket experience or engagement with the RSA process are desirable, as is knowledge of P&W’s design, manufacturing and quality systems.
US citizenship required.
Travel: 10% to 40%, depending on supplier assignments
Special Skills Required:
Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills required for interfacing with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
The ability to work well in a production/operations environment, the ability to rapidly react to business needs including a willingness to travel with minimal prior planning, and good analytical and observational skills are requirements.
Must be able to work in a self-directed manner.
