Raytheon Technologies has an opportunity for a qualified and experienced RF Engineer to provide analysis, baseline management, operations/maintenance, system enhancement, and integration support. Responsible for ensuring successful operation, maintenance, and sustainment of the hardware associated with a complex high priority operational communications system. Responsibilities also include establishing requirements for system/hardware enhancements, supporting efforts for new capabilities, and development and refinement of operational/engineering processes and procedures.
The RF Engineer will be expected to have the technical skills to troubleshoot, document, and resolve system outages and other issues that may be encountered during operation of the system. This includes the collection of diagnostic data, accurately documenting problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools, restoring operation, development of workarounds, and other activities necessary for recovery of the system. The candidate will provide support to include storing, retrieving and manipulating data for analysis and troubleshooting of system capabilities and requirements, utilize analytic devices such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for troubleshooting, monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications and support the generation of concept of operations and provide recommendations for system architecture.
Required Education/Experience: Typically candidates will have a university degree and 5+ years of related experience, an Advanced degree and 3+ years of related experience or 13+ years of related service experience in lieu of a degree.
An Active and in-scope U.S. TS/SCI security clearance with C.I. polygraph.
Prior experience developing and supporting RF ground engineering activities for a satellite communications system.
Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
Experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators and Oscilloscopes.
Experience generating, analyzing, tracking, and managing requirements.
Experience with RF engineering developing and maintaining schematics, analysis, block diagrams, system Bill of Materials (BOMs), and design review packages.
Must be able to apply previous knowledge and experience to provide recommendations for development of new operational concepts/architecture.
Must be able to provide occasional after hour call-in support.
Must be able to support occasional travel (both CONUS and OCONUS). Support emergency repair trips with little or no advanced notice.
Manages statement of work to meet customer and contract requirements.
Technical ability to identify and document system related RF capability enhancements through generation and submittal of White Papers and other submittals.
Lead design performance & cost trade-offs for proposed engineering changes.
Must be able to work at heights and successfully complete Safety at Heights training/certification.
Experience working with vendors for the timely repair and tracking of critical operational hardware.
Experience upgrading hardware supported by Windows and Linux based systems.
This position is based out of a customer site in Aurora, CO. Relocation assistance is not available.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $152,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
