Position summary

At Collins Aerospace, we’re dedicated to relentlessly tackle the toughest challenges in our industry – all to redefine aerospace.

Collins Aerospace is looking for an SAP/Solumina Business Advisor with a deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in Manufacturing Operations. In this role you will act as a liaison between the business teams and the central SAP/Solumina technical support team. You will be an SAP / Solumina manufacturing operations subject matter expert on various small to large SAP / Solumina manufacturing related projects and day to day support. In addition, you will also develop SAP / Solumina training material related to new project functionality. 

This position will work in a hybrid capacity (remote and onsite) and can be located in Foley AL, Riverside CA or San Marcos TX. (Relocation assistance is available).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Providing SME support for Aerostuctures business with PP, MM, PM, QM and Solumnia related issues and projects covering at least two of the following five functional areas of SAP and Solumina manufacturing operations:
  1. SAP Production Operations

  2. SAP Inventory Management

  3. SAP Plant Maintenance

  4. SAP Quality Notifications/Inspections

  5. Solumina Process planning/Operations and Production control

  • Answering day to day SAP/Solumina inquiries from the business relating to the above functional areas of SAP/Solumina.
  • Analyzing gaps in business knowledge, developing and deploying Standard Job Instructions (SJI) on projects being implemented.
  • Supporting the development of test scripts & help in coordinating Aerostructures business user testing for Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), Plant Maintenance (PM) and Quality Management (QM), Process Planning, Operations and production control modules for all projects assigned.
  • Support post Go-Live Planning and Activation Support.
  • Using knowledge and experience of the SAP / Solumina system capabilities to identify, drive and implement business and system improvement opportunities.
  • Defining and documenting business requirements.
  • Acting as the SAP/Solumina liaison for lean events conducted by the business.
  • Performing proactive research where necessary to recommend the most optimum solution. 
  • Creating detailed enhancement designs based on the opportunities above, to present and prioritize them.
  • Training and consulting with the business on how to use business applications ie.(SAP functional Modules, Solumina etc…)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience with at least 2 of the following 5:
  1. Production Operations-Production Order planning and execution; Capacity Planning; Long Term Planning; MPS/MRP planning.

  2. Inventory Management-Stock Transfer Orders; inventory management methods i.e. ROP, Safety stock, Period of Supply, etc; Receiving; Cycle Counts.

  3. Plant Maintenance-Calibration of Manufacturing Equipment; Equipment records; Production equipment maintenance management.

  4. Quality Notifications-task assignments; Vendor Returns.

  5. Solumina Process Planning; Operations and Production Control

  • Have a customer service mindset.
  • Experience with MS suite products.
  • Able to communicate and make presentations to senior level leadership.
  • Able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in one or both of the following functional areas within SAP:
  1. Sales  & Distribution-Sales Orders and Sales Order BOM's; Customer Master; Quotation; Schedule Agreements; Contracts; Deliveries; Shipments; Billing/Invoicing; Pricing; Consignment; Customer Portal; Service Management Orders.

  2. Procure to Pay-Purchase Order; Purchase Requisition; Request for Quote; Purchase Info   Record; Vendor Master; Quota Arrangements; Pricing Conditions; Scheduling Agreements; SRM; SNC; EDI; Subcontracting; Vendor Returns.

  • Project Management experience
  • SAP configuration and ABAP de-bugging / code reading experience
