Job Summary**:**

The System of Systems Modeling and Architecture Directorate performs customer focused operational analysis and simulation activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD).  Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate system level studies and visualization based on customer requirements.  The team welcomes you to join our tradition of excellence through innovation and teamwork while valuing diversity in a flexible work environment to meet the needs of today’s workforce.

Join this highly visible team and perform highly technical assignments, directly contributing to protecting our nation and our war fighters.  Specifically, we are looking for a Section Leader for Systems of Systems and Big Data Analysis in the Advanced Capabilities and Architecture (ACA) Department.  The applicant for this position would have team leadership responsibilities above the typical normal technical work. This Department’s goal is to produce credible analytic materials and advanced tools and methodologies to support, drive, and enable key business captures, current programs, special projects, and corporation-wide business opportunities.  This position is in Woburn, MA.  Section managers provide guidance and management to a team of approximately 10 Engineers

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• You will execute a portfolio of project work, as a senior analyst experienced in modeling and simulation, and operations research techniques
• You will provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills, and foster teamwork, interdependent execution, and growth for approximately 10 – 15 Engineers
• You will participate in talent acquisition, goal setting, performance development, and appraisal for your team
• You will ensure each direct report has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and career advancement

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree
• With a Bachelor’s degree listed above, you must have eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas (a Master’s degree will satisfy 2 years of work experience and a PhD will satisfy 3 years of work experience):
  • Experience managing a team of entry or intermediate level professionals
  • Experience setting day-to-day goals and targets for team members
  • Participation in, and support of, Front end of the Business (FEOB) studies for US DoD services, or international military sales
  • Participate and lead Internal-funded Research and Development (IRAD) and Contract-funded Research and Development (CRAD) activities.
  • A functional, or program lead role within the RMD Engineering.
  • Preparation and presentation of technical and analytical information to both internal and external customers/clients
  • Technical expertise with US Government Modeling and Simulation tools such as AFSIM, STORM, NGTS, OneSAF, or Raytheon tools such as RCADE and OpsTool
  • Experience with algorithm development
  • Evaluating new Operational Concepts, and developing new technology use cases
  • Experience developing or simulating physical systems
  • Academic or work experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, and/or evaluation as related to understanding the behavior and performance of existing or proposed engineering solutions
• US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience with hardware/software integration
• Previous management experience in the following:
  • Developing and mentoring new employees
  • Communicating with different levels of employees, departments, and/or customers
  • A leadership role within a RMD department and/or function

  • Interviewing and hiring new employees
• Familiarity and technical experience with Raytheon developed simulation tools such as Ops Tool and RCADE
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) techniques
• Experience and knowledge of the Air Power (AP), Naval Power (NP), Advanced Tech (AT), Strat. Missile Defense (SMD), or Land Warfare (LWAD) Mission areas.
• Existing TS/SCI security clearance, or past qualification for this clearance
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with subordinates, customers, and senior managers throughout the company’s organizations
• Strong mentoring skills, both technically and professionally
• Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS), Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
