This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual within the RTX Enterprise Services – Controllership and Compliance team. This organization offers opportunity for this individual to be part of a growing accounting department and develop processes to sustain flexibility as business needs change. Job responsibilities are subject to change based upon alignment of processes within this developing organization.

Job Description

Summary of Role:

We are seeking a highly-motivated Senior Analyst to be part of the General Accounting team within the Raytheon Technologies’ Enterprise Service organization in Farmington, CT.  This person will perform the following primary responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly journal entries, closing activities and account reconciliations related to various Collins, Pratt & Whitney and/or Corporate accounts.
  • Corporate expense allocations and charges including but not limited to: education charges, insurance, workers’ compensation, payroll allocations, stock options, taxes, professional fees, technology fees, etc.
  • General ledger closing activities including: SAP ERP system closing steps & loading ledger data to HFM
  • Chart of accounts maintenance
  • SAP to HFM tie outs & mapping
  • Participate in process improvement activities related to all central accounting functions as required, i.e. journal entry automation, support finance transformation, other automation efforts.
  • Contribute to General Accounting by bringing innovative solutions within the knowledge base and work of the department.
  • Support Collins, Pratt & Whitney and/or Corporate accounts regarding any questions or ad hoc requests as required.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting or related field
  • Solid familiarity with US GAAP Accounting
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills, good business acumen and ability to brief levels of management
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and database reporting skills
  • Analytical, planning and organizational skills to problem solve and recommend comprehensive solutions
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to maintain a service-oriented demeanor with professionalism in sensitive and challenging situations

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of or experience with current finance and accounting systems and month end close procedures
  • Experience in SAP and/or HFM is a plus
  • CPA/MBA is a plus

Required Experience and Education:

  • Typically requires a University Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.

US Citizenship:

  • This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Location:

  • Primary office located in Farmington, CT (remote/hybrid)
