    The Collins Aerospace Interiors (BU) Strategic Procurement team is responsible for the development of strategies and relationships with suppliers across the world to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs.  As part of the Soft Goods (Cut & Sew, Leather, Cushions, seating etc.) Strategy team, the organization is looking for a seasoned leader with strong commodity expertise in aerospace soft goods procurement.  The successful applicant will use their experience to create and manage the soft goods commodity procurement strategy and partner/manage key suppliers for the Interiors organization. 

    As Soft Goods Sr Commodity Manager, this person will be responsible for overall supplier relationship and performance, the candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic development & execution, supplier selection, contract negotiation & management across all of the intersection points within Interiors.  Excellent communication skills and professionalism are absolute requirements to drive collaboration and world class performance.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develop supplier specific Strategic Sourcing Review (SSR) packages to develop relationship strategy and gain alignment on approach across all stakeholders
    • Lead, jointly and across the SBU teams, the development of the supplier strategy and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategy
    • Lead Supplier development initiatives like capability assessment, financial viability, entry assessment, knowledge of supplier audits and supplier selection
    • Facilitate technical discussions with suppliers/ business based upon engineering drawings and Specifications
    • Project Management – Develop, track, and ensure key deliverables are met for projects in coordination with commodity, quality, engineering, Program & Supply chain. Complete award process and project handoff to transition teams to the desired operational efficiency
    • RFQ Management- Creating packages, Timely execution of quotes, Bid analysis with total cost analysis, Negotiation, and complete recommendation to award
    • Conduct periodic Business Reviews, schedule supplier visits and discussion, Supplier capability road shows to Global teams
    • Manages issues and expectations across a broad range of skill sets, locations, and cultures both internally and with suppliers
    • Serves as key point of contact within & outside supply chain organization.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
    • Must be willing and able to travel 25%-50% of the time (domestic & international)
    • 6+ years experience in Aerospace soft goods, ideally within a strategic supply chain or Strategic Sourcing team with strong technical expertise
    • Knowledge of supply chain, vendor management, Risk Assessment/Mitigation & performance management
    • Proven experience of strong analytical & problem-solving skills
    • Experienced in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Project Charter and good technical writing skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain, operations management, finance or another related field
    • Advanced Degree (MS/MBA)
    • Avionic soft goods commodity experience especially with leather, cut and sew etc
    • Experience in supply chain is valued, as well as continuous improvement experience and Lean principles knowledge
    • Working experience in terms of supplier management in global / international level, will have added advantage

    The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
