    Senior Design Engineer- Propeller Systems – Hybrid

    The Propeller Systems Engineering group is seeking a customer focused and dedicated Sr. Design Engineer to support highly detailed new and legacy propeller products. Work involves design activities to support the development and continued operation of Propeller components (actuators, hubs, transfer tube and control components). The candidate should have skills and experience in the following areas: design, engineering product change justification, non-conformance assessment, testing and in-service engineering support.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Supporting military and commercial propeller platforms
    • Design support across all phases of the design cycle, concept & optimization, preliminary through detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing, and operational service
    • Support manufacturing with non-conformances and troubleshooting assembly/testing issue
    • Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability
    • Interact with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and suppliers
    • Participate in internal and external product design engineering teams and reviews Interact with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and suppliers

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with ANSI Y14.5M-1982 (drawing interpretation)
    • Experience with designing mechanical assemblies with standard parts (seals, screws, bearings, plugs and pin)
    • Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Office programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to present to customers, operators, and levels of leadership internally & externally.
    • Experience with CAD software
    • Familiarity with FAA requirements
    • Experience with manufacturing of complex housings and special processes
    • Experience with Unigraphics
    • MRB experience in Aerospace

    Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

    In compliance with Connecticut Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $75,000 – $161,150; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
