Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Design Turbine Engineer to work onsite at our North Berwick, Maine campus.
The North Berwick Engineering Center (NBEC) organization is responsible for engineering activities for hardware throughout the gas turbine including the Fan/Low Pressure Compressor, High Pressure Compressor, Combustor, Low Pressure Turbine, High Pressure Turbine and Mechanical System modules across all of Pratt & Whitney's military and commercial products. NBEC is co-located with Pratt & Whitney's largest manufacturing facility where there is hands-on collaboration between manufacturing, assembly and engineering groups. This specific opportunity is to join our team of turbine component designers.
Design assemblies and components to support new engine programs and improve current products.
Execute engineering calculations throughout concept, preliminary, and final design phases.
Work closely with: Internal and vendor manufacturing operations to ensure producible part designs; Internal and vendor manufacturing operations to disposition non-conforming material; and Internal and customer engine overhaul facilities to support continued operation of engines in service.
Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to ensure success of product designs and engineering changes.
Ensure compliance to Pratt and Whitney's engineering process called Engineering Standard Work.
Provide mentoring to less experienced engineers.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years' prior engineering experience; or a Master's degree in a related field and 3+ years' prior engineering experience.
U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Travel up to 25%.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes / materials such as milling, turning, welding, coatings, and investment casting.
Experience in the successful execution of engineering tasks to meet technical, schedule and budget requirements.
Multiple experiences executing product designs and hardware deliveries for prototype and production applications.
Knowledge of continuous improvement principles.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
