Collins Aerospace is looking for a ASIC/FPGA engineer to join our Integrated Circuits Engineering team. This position is for an Electrical or Computer Engineer that will be involved in the design, implementation, verification and integration of a wide variety of high-performance digital systems that incorporate ASICs and FPGAs into a product solution. As an engineer in this organization, you will be employing best practice design methodologies and processes to support our numerous products enterprise-wide.
Position will be located onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Responsibilities:
Define requirements for a new design and develop requirements specification
Perform architectural design-including block diagram, trade off studies and design reviews
Perform detailed design-including implementation, design analysis, and design reviews
ASIC/FPGA digital design
RTL coding and simulation in VHDL or System Verilog
Support board level FPGA integration
Perform FPGA design verification tasks
Certification of hardware in compliance with DO-254
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) ) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Must have experience with requirements definition for new design
Must have experience performing architectural design, including block diagram, trade off studies and design reviews
Must have knowledge of ASIC & FPGA design flows
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using FPGA vendor specific tools (e.g. Vitis, Vivado, Libero, and Quartus)
Experience with ASIC specific tools (e.g Synopsys Design Compiler, Cadence Conformal LEC)
Experience with data interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, CDN, ARINC-429, I2C...)
Experience of certification of Hardware with compliance to DO-254
Requirements based testbench development for the verification of RTL blocks using VHDL or System Verilog
Experience with Linux, scripting, C/C++, Python, Perl, languages
Experience with leading a small team and/or interest in leadership of people/projects
