    Role Overview:

    This position is for an experienced Electrical and Electronics Engineering professional, working a production program. Performs engineering work and applied research, coordinates activities involving the design and development of electronic equipment and devices, and prepares engineering sketches and product information documentation.

    This position requires a candidate with initiative, resourcefulness, project management skills, excellent written and oral communication capability and the willingness to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment in support of Military customers.

    The primary roles and responsibilities of this position are: 

    • Lead design, development, and analysis of electrical circuitry: analog, digital and power circuits including DSPs, FPGAs, sensor interfaces, motor controllers, linear and switching power supplies
    • Support manufacturing and production of electrical and electromechanical products for failure analyses, parts obsolescence, and preventive maintenance
    • Generate and review specifications
    • Develop and release complete packages for manufacturing, including schematics, bills of materials, PCB fabrication documentation
    • Electrical design modelling and simulation to verify correct system performance. Create circuit models and conduct design analysis including stress, timing, signal stability, and worst case
    • Testing and troubleshooting of hardware using standard electrical board testing  and environmental testing
    • Documentation of hardware design plans, technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans and reports
    • Product quality and robustness improvements using DOE, FMEA, reliability and maintainability, tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods
    • Project planning efforts for support and execution to schedule and budget including obsolescence planning
    • Lead failure investigations using Relentless Root Cause Analysis methodologies
    • Mentor junior staff

    The ideal candidate will have experience w/ the following skills:

    • Experience working in an AS9100 environment
    • Background developing military/aerospace products and related environmental specifications and requirements, including EMC, temperature, altitude, power, radiation, and nuclear environments
    • Hands on experience with electro-mechanical systems such as motors and controllers is desirable
    • Experience with component selection and qualification, electronics manufacturing processes and design for test
    • Familiarity with radiation and nuclear environments
    • Background developing military/aerospace products and related environmental specifications and requirements, including EMC, temperature, altitude, power, radiation, and nuclear environments
    • Lean / Six Sigma / Agile experience

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BS in Electrical Engineering
    • Project planning experience
    • Experience with electrical hardware development and certification lifecycle including: electrical architecture design, requirements analysis & development, electrical design of power management analog and digital circuits, development & integration, and qualification testing
    • Experience with development tools including Cadence, Simetrix or PSPice, and MATLAB
    • Excellent understanding of product development methodology and associated documentation
