This position is for Senior Electronics Engineering Lab Technician in the Component & Material Evaluation Laboratory.  We perform testing to ensure devices meet published electrical, mechanical, and environmental criteria as part of the qualification process and when devices fail in the factory or field, we are called upon to employ our expertise and suite of analytical tools to validate failures and assist in determining root cause. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret Collins Aerospace specifications, vendor data sheets, military, and industry standards to define test set-ups and acquire the data requested by the Component Engineers or engineering customers 

• Design and build test fixtures as needed to meet test objectives

• Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain standard or specialized test equipment

• Perform electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing using a broad range of test equipment and analytical instrumentation, ensuring accuracy

• Provide detailed documentation via spreadsheets and PowerPoint reports. Summarize test or analysis in an existing database

• Utilize microscopes and X-Ray equipment to inspect and document device characteristics

Qualifications/ Expectations Needed:

• Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• An understanding of circuit design, component application and troubleshooting

• Experience with C++ enabling modification of existing automated test programs or development of new ones

• Candidate must be self-driven, customer focused and willing to take responsibility

• Ability to work well independently and as member of a high-performance team

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• The position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills as frequent interaction with team members, engineers and leadership is needed to convey test results, determine next steps and recommend solutions

• Must receive a passing score on the electronics theory test
