Seasoned Aero Thermal Fluids Engineering professional, working independently to design, analyze and validate combustor designs that meet program requirements.

Responsibility Statements:

Under minimal direction, designs, analyzes, and validates combustor aerodynamics and thermals to meet program requirements.  Strong analytical skills in the areas of fluid mechanics, combustion, heat transfer, and CFD are required to develop, evaluate, and modify combustor designs.    With some direction, able to perform trade studies to develop a combustor design that balances all combustor requirements.  Ability to communicate results clearly and succinctly to CIPT and SIPT customers, as well as seamlessly interface across multiple disciplines within the CIPT.  Contributes to the development of new/improved processes, procedures, and engineering standard work  

Looking for motivated candidate to join Combustor Aero/Thermal/Fluids group.  The group is responsible for all aspects of combustor/diffuser case aerodynamic design for both commercial and military product offerings.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design flow path, fuel injection, combustor, and cooling architecture to meet program requirements.
  • CFD analysis of combustor/diffuser aerodynamics.
  • Thermal analysis of combustor/diffuser hardware.
  • Development & validation test execution.
  • Prepare and present summary of technical analysis.
  • Interfacing with other disciplines including design, structures, operability, durability.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5+ years’ prior relevant experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3+ years’ experience.
