The Senior Project Engineer in engineering manages and controls the scope, cost, schedule, and risk of assigned projects.

The Senior Project Engineer in engineering collaborates across multiple functional organizations, systems/ design engineers, program / project management teams, component suppliers as well as the customer.  Together, they execute the engineering design process, in a fast-paced environment, for development and integration of electrical and mechanical systems for military engine programs.

This is a HYRBID position. Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. Travel time is up to 10%.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and integration of complex assemblies in accordance with Collins’s product development process.

  • Provide design oversight for specifications, drawings, and test plans.

  • Perform system and component requirements review and compliance assessments.

  • Develop and manage project risk and mitigation plans.

  • Develop and deliver detailed presentations for product design reviews.

  • Support product verification, certification, and production incorporation

  • Conduct Relentless Root Cause & Corrective Action (RRCCA) investigations for field and production engine test component removals.

  • Coordinate Class I and Class II engineering changes utilizing the Collins and Pratt & Whitney Configuration Control Board processes.

  • Coordinate efforts with the Category 1 supplier to carry-out any/all engineering tasks required to support program / customer milestones / objectives.

  • Develop and present project status and closure plans to Collins / Customer engineering and program leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • https://U.S. citizenship is required, as only https://U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using strong planning and execution skills.

  • Demonstrated experience multi-tasking, meeting challenging schedules and delivering on budget.

  • Experience working across a highly matrixed organization, including team members, suppliers, and customers.

  • Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Project experience.
