Senior Engineer, Systems Engineering (onsite)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Managing baseline installations into operations
  • Maintaining, tracking, and monitoring of availability percentages for the program
  • Troubleshooting operational issues, dealing with anomalies and system recovery
  • Generating weekly and monthly availability reports, plus any ad-hoc requests for data
  • Attending technical exchange meetings as the representative for the program
  • Supporting resolution of technical systems engineering, integration, and operations issues
  • Attending coordination meetings with other segments to plan operational activities
  • Monitoring, tracking, coordinating, and implementing operational workloads
  • Briefing at customer and technical meetings
  • Providing stand-in support for Tech Lead or Staff Engineer in various meetings or briefings during their absence
  • Providing off-hours call-in support to assist 24/7 operations.

Springfield, VA or Richardson, TX

Clearance Requirements:
An active and in-scope Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance 
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12,000 for the candidate hired with an Active TS/SCI that can be verified before start at RIS

Required skills:
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of operations and maintenance tasks and activities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and make technical decisions

Desired skills:
  • Familiarity with Linux, especially Red Hat
  • Knowledge of Oracle

Education and Experience Requirements:
5 years of relevant experience with a BS degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics); or 
3 years of relevant experience with a MS degree (Typically STEM focused - Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
