- Object-oriented Java programming
- Ability to design, develop, and maintain new software functionality
- Ability to work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
- Ability to work closely with other disciplines (systems and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems

- Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor
- Ability to follow established SW processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
Location: working onsite in our State College, PA or Dulles, VA office

Clearance Requirements: An active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12K for a person with a TS/SCI clearance that can be verified and hired here at Raytheon
Required Experience:
- Experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment and using unit testing tools (e.g. JUnit)
- Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
- Experience with software execution throughout the entire software life cycle
- Experience in scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
- Experience in DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins
- Experience with agile software methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban
- Ability to design software modules using an object-oriented approach.
- Ability to provide direct customer interaction for the purpose of conveying software design decisions and/or performing software installation support.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with Git for source control
Desired Experience:
- Experience with JIRA, BitBucket, Gradle.
- Security+ certification
- Experience using the Atlassian tool suite
- Practical experience with specific technologies such as databases, distributed architectures, web-based technologies, cloud technology, user interfaces/portals, and familiarity with software design/implementation tools.
Required Education and Experience:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
