    This job opportunity is for a Senior System Administrator position supporting multiple program labs at Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI S), Goleta, Ca facility. The System Administrator is responsible for administering multiple environments supporting DoD programs and ensuring they are fully compliant with Raytheon policy and USG Information Assurance requirements. These environments are primarily Linux but there are also Windows systems to administer as well. The selected candidate will be responsible to multiple program managers and will have to prioritize work across labs for each of those programs. Day to day operation and sustainment of these systems will include (but not limited to):

    • Configure Linux servers and Windows workstations.

    • Ensure anti-virus software is up to date and have the latest virus definition files.

    • Provide software patching for all servers and workstations (RedHat, Microsoft, Java, Adobe, etc.)

    • Manage system backups.

    • Create and/or modify accounts.

    • Hardening of servers and workstations IAW DFARS 252.204-7012 standards

    • Immediately notify program leadership of any irregularities in system operations and/or attacks/compromises.

    • Additional duties as assigned.

    • The ideal candidate possesses excellent written and oral communications skills, technical knowledge, exemplary customer service skills, excellent time management skills, the ability to find creative solutions to complex challenges, and the ability to multi-task and thrive in a diverse environment.

    Required Skills:

    • US Citizen with a current Secret Security Clearance

    • 5+ years relevant and recent experience with Systems Administration

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant and recent experience with Linux Systems Administration

    • Experience with server and workstation assessment and hardening using various information system security assessment/hardening tools - DISA STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, Retina, Nessus etc.

    • Professional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, and ability to excel in a high-paced multi- tasked environment

    • Ability to act independently, prioritize tasks, and manage to schedule

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written modes and be able to author and present subject specific presentations.

    • DoD 8570.01 IAT Level 2 (requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP)

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience with VMware virtualization

    • System Administrator experience with Microsoft Domain Controllers, Active Directory, RedHat Directory and openLDAP

    • DoD 8570.01 IAM Level 2 (requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: CAP, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC)

    • Computing Environment certifications to include Linux and or Windows

    • Experience with enterprise level data backup and disaster recovery planning, prioritization and technical execution.

    • Familiarity with cloud computing infrastructure and administration, to include Intel DevCloud and/or AWS GovCloud.

    Required Education (including Major):

    Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

    The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
