    Senior Manager Software Engineering (Remote)

    Role Overview:

    Collins Aerospace is seeking to hire a Senior Manager of Software Development experienced in digital transformation.  This role will report directly to the Associate Director of Software Development.

    As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you will lead a team of Cloud Engineers that are working on a multi-year Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) project.  DPLC will transform the speed and effectiveness of product development and support for our customers.  DPLC employs modern digital platforms to accelerate broad adoption of proven practices in Model Based Engineering and enables connected workflows across the product life-cycle to unlock innovations and efficiencies.  In this role you will manage Cloud Engineers who are individual contributors on various scrum teams on the DPLC project.  These scrum teams are responsible for developing and supporting services that are deployed to Cloud, on-premise and secured environments.   Responsibilities will include ensuring teams participate in complete lifecycle of initiating, planning, execution, deployment, and communication of deliverables.  You will also liaise with Enterprise Engineering and Digital Engineering product owners to collaborate on shared initiatives and strategic objectives.  You will apply your technical and organizational skills to define goals, ensure clear requirements, plan for dependencies, measure progress, and mitigate risks.  You will work in maintaining partnerships with our India Design Center and Mexicali teams who also provide Cloud Engineer resources for DPLC.

    Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Manage, lead, supervise and mentor team of Cloud Engineers that will directly execute development and support activities.

    • Ensure teams are aligned to DPLC strategic initiatives.

    • Ensure teams participate and understand project lifecycle and implement best practices.

    • Seek to improve processes, find efficiencies, and ensure adoption of product releases.

    • Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Enterprise Engineering, Digital Engineering product owners, functional team members, users, and all levels of leadership.

    • Maintain partnerships with India Design Center and Mexicali teams.

    • Support a culture of innovation within the organization by encouraging teams to think outside the box and embrace new technologies and solutions.

    • Ensure agility and scalability of processes and tools to support projects of varying sizes, complexity, customer types, etc

    • Build relationships across the broader Raytheon Technologies organization to leverage best practices and lessons learned sharing.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

    • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience. 

    • Solid understanding of SDLC

    • Experience in DevOps and/or Cloud Development

    • Experience with Azure DevOps or AWS Code Pipeline

    • Experience in Agile development methodologies

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Windows and Linux

    • Experience with serverless technologies in cloud environments

    • Version Control/Git/SVN/Bitbucket

    • Experience with Artifact Management Tools

    • Understanding of multiple Active Directory domains

    • Understanding of Containers

    The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
