Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will work independently and in collaboration with other manufacturing design personnel. You will analyze designs and develops component layouts. You will coordinate and implement sequence of operations, and product updates and enhancements. You will perform activities related to planning and designing manufacturing processes and specification requirements to ensure full utilization of manufacturing equipment.

The position is in Riverside, CA and is 100% onsite and works 2nd shift

Primary Responsibilities

• Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.

• Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.

• Discipline Description Designs and plans layout for assembly and materials handling.

• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

• Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.

• Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Analyzes machinery and equipment designs to ensure factory and production conditions are met.

• Coordinates and implements operations sequencing and specification procedures to optimize efficiency and quality in the fabrication of tools and equipment.

• Helps to support existing product line design activities and/or operational process modifications to help enhance products and processes and ensure that current and future business needs are met.

• Provides technical leadership and helps train lower-level staff to diagnose and solve problems and build capabilities.

• Read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings/models.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience OR

• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

• Able to demonstrate adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

• Current and demonstrated experience in the application of Lean, through Continuous Improvement events

• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to multitask, problem solve, and manage resources along with effective time management and organizational skills. 

• Intermediate knowledge and experience of various operation software and MS Office software.

• Robotics and Automation - Basics

• Six Sigma – Understanding level

• Project Management – Basic understanding

• Read, write, speak, and understand work instructions both verbal and written, perform basic math calculations and conduct self-inspection / audit
