    Mission Systems Microelectronics Packaging is seeking to fill a Senior Chemist/Materials Engineering position.  This group is responsible for the Microelectronics Packaging technology activities throughout Collins Aerospace.  This engineer will be involved in all aspects of microelectronics packaging design and must possess strong material skills including the desire to design and develop state of the art miniaturized electronic devices.

    *Sign on bonus up to $40,000 for active security clearance holders and up to $17,500 for non-clearance holders. (bonuses available for external candidates only)

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Participate in Microelectronics product development activities including packaging concepts, preliminary/detailed design and package road mapping efforts

    • Develop technologies required for next generation microelectronics

    • Coordinate prototype package builds and evaluation efforts

    • Qualify microelectronic assemblies

    • Support factory transition of products

    • Provide manufacturing support for Microelectronic assemblies currently in production

    • Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal)

    • Be highly motivated; self-directed; and able to balance multiple tasks

    • Work well within a diverse team environment

    Basic Qualifications:

    • This position requires a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in the appropriate discipline.

    • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

    • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

    • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

    • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge:

    • Wafer processing

    • Thin film deposition experience

    • Plating chemistry knowledge

    • Post wafer fabrication processes

    • Failure analysis techniques

    • Capable of obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.
