    Position Role Type:

    The Senior NDT Technician performs nondestructive testing on various types of metals using dye penetrant and digital radiographic techniques and equipment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform the NDT operations for which qualified and interpret/evaluate results in terms of existing codes, standards, and specifications.

    • Complete associated NDT documentation for submission to regulatory agencies as governed by company and contract requirements.

    • Set up, calibrate, and operate digital radiographic and liquid penetrant equipment.

    • Knowledgeable on viewing/evaluating and archiving requirements for digital radiographic images.

    • Thorough familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method.

    • Understand practical theory.

    • Be aware of the need for and the limitations of reference standards.

    • Be familiar with the type and location of expected defects for the manufacturing process.

    • Maintain, adjust, and make minor repairs to NDT equipment as required.

    • Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

    • Train and guide Level 1 and trainee personnel as assigned by Level 3.

    • Must be able to pass regularly scheduled subject exams.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

    • Must be able to train on 1st Shift for 6+ months and move to 2nd Shift once trained if necessary.

    • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation of technical data and quality procedures required.

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    • Strong computer skills in Word and Excel required.

    • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or in absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A minimum of 32 hours classroom training for Penetrant and 80 hours for Digital Radiography.

    • Objective evidence or letters of verification of previous NDT work experience and levels of responsibility.

    • SAP experience a plus.

    • Experience inspecting GTAW welds.

    • Some leadership experience a plus.
