At Raytheon BBN, we invent new science by applying cross-discipline techniques to tangible prototype systems to prove concept viability. Our Networking and Communications Technologies group anticipates the future in very large- and very small-scale information exchange across wired, wireless, and undersea environments.

We seek well-qualified and eager System/Software Engineers to become an integral part of this work. You will contribute to such diverse and critical areas as network infrastructure security, network understanding, energy conservation, content networking, mobility, efficient channel access, and networking within extremely harsh or hostile environments. You will employ strategies for both free-form thinking and disciplined application. You will work with extraordinarily talented individual.

Required Skills

• BS degree and 10 years or MS and 7 years of experience or a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field plus 5 years experience
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and principles
• Experience in disciplined C++, Java, and Python code development
• Experience developing code in Linux environments
• Writing and reviewing code to specifications/requirements
• Position may require some amount of overnight travel

Additional Skills Desired

• Experience with socket programming, including non-blocking designs
• Experience working on hardened code
• Experience working on code deployed in space
• Experience working in an agile team
• Experience with Coverity
• Experience in Networking Fundamentals is a plus
• Ability to work and communicate as part of a team
• The desire to continually learn and improve yourself
