    Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to work at our Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) division, located in Jacksonville, Florida.   You will be part of a team that is developing and manufacturing advanced, high-performance composites in marine applications for surface ships and submarines for the U.S. Navy.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Investigate the root cause of customer and supplier escapes and non-conformances and determine appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
    • Complete and maintain customer documentation.
    • Perform product, process, and work instruction audits.
    • Interface with all levels of management and coworkers to resolve technical/quality issues related to internal and external product and process quality performance.
    • Be a voice of the customer and suppliers in a manufacturing setting.
    • Review and approve new and revised customer contracts.
    • Serve as subject matter expert in matters related to assigned program(s) and vendors.
    • Monitor and process material identified as defective from identification through disposition.
    • Willing to support all areas as needed.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
    • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
    • Must be able to read, understand and apply work instructions.
    • Must be able to be flexible around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime.
    • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Supplier Quality Experience preferred
    • Demonstrated effective Problem-Solving skill set
    • Ability to obtain, organize and analyze quality data
    • Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, internal and external
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Experience in SAP
    • Experience in a AS9100 certified environment or similar operating system certifications (IATF16949, ISO-9001-2015, etc)
    • Machining center experience, composite machining experience a plus
    • Working knowledge of basic GD&T
