Summary

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center is seeking a qualified Supplier Quality Engineer (P4). Candidates should possess experience in MRO Repair Station/Engine Center, Quality Management Systems (QMS), RCCA, Data Analysis, Technical Review, Inspection Methods, as well as Project Management.

The person in this position will be the process owner of Columbus Engine Centers Supplier Quality Program and the Quarantined Material Review Program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality Management System compliance and effectiveness for Gate or Shift assigned

  • Conducts activities to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.

  • Evaluate technical data and work instructions in support of Engineering and Operations.

  • Identifies and manages risk utilizing and driving UPPAP core elements (https://e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify risk in product development and propose risk management solutions.

  • Conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities.

  • Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.

  • Analyzes quality activities to identify systemic issues and enable development of specific quality initiative improvements and strategies.

  • Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation.

  • Performs Escape Management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for internally produced products & processes.

  • Promote the Quality culture in the business, through compliance to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace or Aviation industry; OR Advanced degree and 5+ years of relevant experience

  • https://U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only https://U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in STEM field; Engineering field preferred.

  • Experience working directly with suppliers, internal customers, and auditors.

  • Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) for aircraft engines and CFR 145

  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.

  • LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience.

  • Strong Root Cause Analysis experience, able to lead product or process non-conformance investigations (https://i.e., DIVEs).

  • Advanced Data Analysis and Excel skills.

  • Organizational, planning and project management skills.  Certification a plus.

  • Experience with AS9100/AS9110 standards and audit process. Certification a plus.

  • Experience working with Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.

  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to motivate teams to achieve business goals.
