The Raytheon Electronic Warfare - Hardware Engineering Department in Goleta, California is seeking a ****RF Design Engineer to join our hardware design team.
This RF Design Engineer will act as a design engineer for RF Design in the Electronics Warfare Systems/Self Protect Systems (EWS/SPS) Hardware Department. The department specializes in the design, integration, verification, and production of RF / Microwave subsystems for airborne platforms.
The candidate will be responsible for design and development of Electronic Warfare & Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products & Electronic Warfare subsystems derived from system level requirements.
In this role, you will develop associated EW Electronic Support and Electronic Attack architectures, perform electrical design and analysis, implement design solutions, perform and guide simulations and modeling of EW subsystems. They will support the performance, testing, and data/effectiveness evaluations of associated hardware in a laboratory or chamber setting.
He/she will generate subsystem requirements documents and specifications. The candidate will work in the product development team environment with system and software engineers. This position may require occasional business-related travel.
Required Skills:
Typically a minimum of 5 years Electrical Engineering experience in the Design, Development and Implementation of RF / Microwave electronic systems or 3 years with an advanced degree.
Design and development of RF / Microwave electronic sub-systems including simulation techniques, testing and production support.
Demonstrated technical communication: Experience with system/sub-system level block diagrams, technical writing, and supporting design review packages for complex electronics.
Experience with block diagrams, parts list generation and design review packages for complex electronics.
Hands-on experience in testing of electronic products using high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, waveform generators, and debugging tools.
Experience with RF and Microwave design tools such as ADS, Genesys, HFSS, FEKO and MATLAB.
Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment.
Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills.
A deep desire to learn and engage in complex system design that connects imagination with reality.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment.
Desired Skills:
Experience developing defense related RF / Microwave electronic systems.
Experience with FPGAs and signal processing.
Education:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Desired Education:
Typically a Master’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.
