    Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineer to join an exceptionally interesting and important program.

    Typical responsibilities include supporting the design, coding, test, and integration of software.  The qualified candidate will be involved with all phases of the software development life cycle including SW requirements analysis, use case support, SW architecture analysis, detailed design, software builds, generating test plans, ensuring code meets requirements through thorough unit testing, updating technical documents, software integration support, problem detection, and resolving discrepancy reports.  The qualified candidate will also be responsible for supporting software validation and verification, qualification, configuration control and documentation at the component level.

    Additionally, the qualified candidate will be responsible for quickly understanding assignments and carrying them out with moderate supervision.  Verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills will enable the qualified candidate to successfully support Peer Reviews at all phases of the development cycle to ensure successful integration with other software components.

    Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

    Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design

    Design signal processing software based on sparse documentation

    Lead one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project

    Design/ implement complex signal processing algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints

    Location is State College PA

    Clearance: Current TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

    Requirements:

    Seven years’ experience as a signals software engineer

    Knowledge of Fourier transforms, filtering, communication theory, digital modulation, error control coding

    Bachelor’s degree or higher

    Desired Skills:

    Experience with software defined radio architectures

    Commercial wireless standards

    Geolocation techniques

    Software configuration management

    Python, Matlab

    Desired Education (including Major):

    Bachelor of Computer Science, BS in a Math, Science or Engineering related field with 5 years of experience; 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree.

    Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

    Typically requires:

    A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
