    Job Summary:
    We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Command and Control (C2) Applications development team in the Battlefield Radar and Command and Control (RADC5I) software department in Fullerton, California. The C2 team adopts DevOps processes and other best industry practices along with state-of-the-art technologies and real-time computing architectures to provide next-generation mission-critical command and control capabilities to our customers.

    The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for supporting multiple programs and multiple platforms within our C2 software product line.  The Senior Software Engineer will be expected to perform as an experienced individual contributor growing into the role of a technical subject matter expert, working as part of a high performing Integrated Product Team.  Responsibilities include software design, software development, software debugging, integration and testing, and limited technical mentoring and oversight.
     
    There may be travel opportunities to sites across the United States and internationally to support system integration and test activities.

    Qualifications you must have:

    • Typically requires Bachelor’s in in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering field and 5+ years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 9 years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience

    • Experience with a modern software language (such as C, C++, or Java).

    • Experience using Unix or Linux Operating System

    • Experience in Java programming preferably at an enterprise-level scale.

    • Experience with deploying software on Windows and Linux Operating Systems.

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

     
    Qualifications we value:

    • Experience working in a team-focused development environment, such as Agile/SCRUM.

    • Experience with C/C++ programming.

    • Experience with Ada programming.

    • Experience with C# programming.

    • Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE) and related application server technologies such as Oracle Weblogic and Red Hat JBoss.

    • Experience with other Java enterprise frameworks such as Spring.

    • Experience in Java microservices implementation and deployment.

    • Experience with relational DBMS and complex SQL queries.

    • Experience with data distribution technologies.

    • Knowledge of military air and land operations and planning.

    • Experience with GIS concepts and technologies.

    • Knowledge of military messaging technologies, and related formats such as USMTF.

    • Knowledge of Link 16, ASTERIX, ICAO, FIXM and other protocols used within airspace management, air defense, and air traffic control applications.

    • Experience with a variety of UI Frameworks including Java Swing and Angular.

    • Experience working in a DevOps environment, including automated testing and continuous integration and deployment.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to produce and present technical documentation.

    Location Information**:** This position is located in Fullerton, California.  Fullerton is a short drive from the ocean, in close proximity to several theme parks, and less than two hours from the mountains and the desert.  Fullerton has a historic and vibrant downtown, a cultural center, an arboretum, a major public university, and more than 40 parks and trails.

    The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
