The Electro-Optical Hardware in the Loop (EO HWIL) department has the responsibility to design, develop and maintain complex engineering test environments (missile flight simulators) that operate in real-time closing the guidance, navigation, and tracking loops with Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) products.  
  

Job Summary:  
  

This position is for a Sr. Software Engineer who has the educational and professional experience in the development and implementation of software for real-time applications for real-time scene generation.  

You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and utilization of software to interface real-time and closed loop with weapon subsystems in a way that provides an operationally relevant stimulus to allow for weapon software development, integration, and test. Real-time scene generators are high-end, multi-core workstations running Linux as the base Operating System (OS). You will also be responsible for development and integration of signature generators, Electro-Optical (EO) sensor models for infrared (IR) and visual (Vis) wave bands, interfaces to six-degrees of freedom simulations, and development of video injection to the Unit Under Test (UUT). The tasking requires applied knowledge of C/C++, multi-threading, multi-process programming, and Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) programming. Additional responsibilities for development of requirements and system designs prior to software development.

Qualifications You Must Have:    

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant experience   

• Experience developing and testing software using C++ or closely related software languages  

• Experience with NVIDIA CUDA and or OpenGL development

• Multi-threaded / multi-process development experience 

• Experience developing software for real-time control of events and synchronization  

• Experience in Unix/Linux computing environments  

• Experience and knowledge in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python  

Qu****alifications We Value:    

• Master’s Degree (MS) preferred in a STEM discipline  

• Experience using software optimization techniques and timing analysis to ensure real-time operation and synchronization of software products  

• Working knowledge in the development and integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces  

• Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, and Rio  

• Proficiency utilizing software debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementation and ensure integrity of the software products  

• Experience developing requirements for software products  

• Understanding of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques   

• Working knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles environments and tools  

• Working knowledge and experience with configuration management tools such as Git   

• Knowledge of distributed system development and integration   

• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and challenging environment
