Raytheon provides end-to-end space solutions – from ground control systems to on-orbit sensors – to keep our customers informed and ahead of the threat.  Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all of the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt.

Job Summary:

Our highly skilled software engineers develop new technologies that advance our Nation's defense capabilities.  In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of next-generation satellite mission software.  You will work independently as well as part of a larger collaborative team onsite in Aurora, Colorado performing real time maintenance for our customer.

Clearance / Citizenship Requirements:

• Active and transferable https://U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
• https://U.S. citizenship is required, as only https://U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills 

• This role typically requires 5-8 years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience related to Software Engineering, development, and implementation
• 3-5 years of experience with Real Time Embedded Software Development
• 3-5 years of experience with C in a Linux environment
• Demonstrated working knowledge of VxWorks

Desired Qualifications

• Best qualified candidates will have previous experience with Satellite Mission Vehicle Management and/or Space Vehicle Control
• Experience with Effects Based Operations of Satellite Systems or experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.

Typical Education/Experience 

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
