Raytheon Solipsys, located in Fulton, MD (in between Baltimore and Washington DC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX). We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Software Engineer to join our diverse team who is talented, highly motivated, has a passion for finding innovative solutions to problems, and is committed to quality.

This position offers flexibility to a nationwide 100% remote work location. And may require occasional travel to Raytheon business locations.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

• Utilize Angular and Java to develop innovative new features and improvements that integrate into existing Command & Control (C2) Systems.
• Design, architect and code critical capabilities in an active Agile environment to address emerging opportunities.
• Work in a highly collaborative team environment to design, architect and innovate software solutions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Experience with front-end frameworks JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular or similar
• Experience with backend software engineering using Java, including implementing REST APIs
• Relevant work experience using SW Development tools such as Jenkins or similar
• Relevant work experience with full life cycle development (SDLC) including exposure to software requirements, design, development, debug and test
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

• Strong computer science fundamentals: such as data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, information retrieval
• Experience with microservices, event based, SOA and cloud architectures
• Experience with Container Orchestration implementation such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Relevant work experience in software development using object oriented design methodologies such as MVC
• Experience with unit-test, continuous integration and test-driven development
• Experience and/or knowledge in programming multithreaded systems
• Ability to engage & build positive relationships with both customers as well as internal & external employees.
• Ability to react to change, handle tasks productively, & achieve results in a matrix environment
• Ability to work with customers to provide training, demonstrations, and technical guidance
• Strong oral & written communication skills & proven leadership skills
• Opportunities for travel to customer sites for demos, integration and support

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
