Senior Software Engineer / Scrum Master - Secure Software (Onsite)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The Mission Platform Products team develops advanced embedded solutions  for aircraft testing, training and autonomy, including cryptographic, networking, and command and control applications. We are responsible for the design, development, integration and verification of our embedded solutions working with hardware, FPGA and other software teams.

Our Security Solutions Software Team is looking for a candidate having a background in embedded C/C++ software development in an Agile environment.  The individual will be a technical or Agile leader in the full software development life cycle on a software development team with the responsibility of ensuring the development of embedded software from design through software unit test in an Agile environment. The candidate will formulate and implement software requirements and translate these artifacts into well formed software design. The individual will lead and mentor software team members creating the software design utilizing both written descriptions and Unified Modeling Language diagrams. The candidate will be expected to support architecting software, making design trade-offs, making design decisions, and ensure the production of high quality code within budget and schedule. The candidate will ensure fulfillment of requirements via adherence to a well defined software process.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Agile team ceremonies with remote and global teams.
• Demonstrate embedded C/C++ software engineering through all phases of development.
• Support the development of technical proposals and cost estimates during the bid and proposal cycle.
• Design, demonstrate, develop, and maintain embedded software in C++ and python for our products.
• Actively participate in Peer reviews, Agile sprint reviews, user story refinement and demos.
• Coach less experienced individuals and enable them to become experts in their area of software development.
• Identify and advocate for improvement to processes, tools, and technical solutions which affect the team and/or product.
• Effective communication with internal teams, customers, and leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR 
  Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR 
  In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required 
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements 
• Significant Embedded systems and C/C++/Python software development experience
• Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership to team members
• Able to communicate complicated & detailed technical topics to a range of audiences

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with Agile development methodologies, especially as Scrum Master
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing priorities and schedules
• Experience with multi-threaded real-time embedded applications
• Experience with OOA/D architectures and design patterns
• Cryptography systems or methods
• TCP/IP network applications development experience
• Green Hills Integrity development experience
• Background and/or knowledge of cross domain solutions
