We have an exciting opportunity for an SMT Cleaning Process Engineer to join our Advanced Products Center (APC) RF Microelectronics Process Engineering team in Dallas, Texas.
We are the subject matter experts for processes and materials for RF microelectronic packaging and surface mount technology. This is a hands-on role where every day is different. You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, tooling engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders on product manufacturing. This opportunity allows for working on cutting-edge automation and materials as well as mature production. Team responsibilities include developing and implementing materials and processes, process improvements, and production support using statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis. Evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) will be required.

Key Responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:
Technical leadership and execution of J-STD-001 Rev H compliance for SMT cleaning processes
Supporting current high-volume high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems. Factory production execution support includes developing and implementing well-controlled processes using data-driven methods such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and writing shop process documentation.
Developing and executing new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next-generation product designs.
Ensuring processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements (J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, IPC, etc.)
Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies, investigating and qualifying new materials, and more
Capital equipment down-selection and integration to meet current and future business needs
Effective cross-functional communication of technical information

Required Skills
Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT)
SMT cleaning experience
Demonstrated problem solving with data-driven approach
Demonstrated ability to execute impactful improvements
Knowledge of material properties or automated equipment
Experience working effectively within a team environment
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for 6+ hours a day
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, computer)
Self-motivated, proactive, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Desired Skills
Process development and qualification experience, especially for batch cleaners
J-STD-001 and IPC standards familiarity
Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical data analysis experience, Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques
Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, equipment vendor statement of works, etc.
Education
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
