    The Pro Line4/21 and Fusion EDS System team is developing and sustaining new deployments of the Pro Line 4/21 and Fusion EDS systems for business jet customers around the world.  Be part of the systems engineering team that is making this happen!

    We are looking for a self-motivated and reliable systems engineer who is ready for a challenge to join our team and help provide support to the thousands of Pro Line 4 and 21 platforms in operation.  The needed support will be diverse and may include investigating potential issues and answering general questions, supporting small development and/or 3rd party integration efforts on our Pro Line 4 and 21 platforms and providing technical support to the aircraft certification effort.  Not only is this a great opportunity to learn more about our Collins products - it is also an excellent way to learn and hone valuable systems engineering skills!  Success in this type of role would be valuable for any engineer looking to advance their career toward technical leadership.

    This is a hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A comprehensive relocation package is available.

    Job Responsibilities:

    The selected candidate will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of systems engineering efforts.  The list below contains some of the main job responsibilities, however it is important to be aware that there will be many other responsibilities not listed here.

    • Serve as the systems engineering focal for support requests from various channels and fully own providing a timely response – some examples are:
    • Support our network of approved dealers and/or certification partners by responding to their questions/concerns regarding our products and their approved installations
    • Provide direct support to OEMs/customers, such as Textron and MHI, for various issues and concerns such as mandates and 5G, etc. for their various in-service aircraft
    • Work with our Customer Support organization to help resolve issues or concerns from the field
    • Build a network of contacts for our various products, and be willing to reach out as needed
    • Become proficient with operating our various systems rigs to be able to perform required testing and troubleshooting
    • Take the initiative to utilize any and all available resources to find answers to questions
    • Support AFD, IOC, and/or MDT development efforts as needed by creating and managing change requests in Jira, updating requirements and performing systems integration and certification testing as needed
    • Support customers, dealers or our Aircraft Certification Center with installation and power-on activities for new or first of kind installations either remotely or on site
    • Be an active member of the systems engineering team and be willing to help others as needed.
    • Support the effort to improve systems processes, tools, etc..

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.  
    • Demonstrated performance in a team environment, i.e. evidence of being a Humble, Hungry, Smart team player
    • Previous Systems Engineering experience is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Pro Line 4/21 or Fusion is preferred
