JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Manager of Tax Planning. This role will report to the Sr Director Tax Collins Aerospace and lead tax planning matters relating to the Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) strategic business unit (SBU) of Collins Aerospace.

Overview

This role will assist with developing and validating alignment with strategic business and tax objectives to ensure global tax compliance and tax efficiencies.  Communication, collaboration, and coordination with other members of the tax group, as well as other headquarter and business unit functions as appropriate and necessary.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide tax support to the business on domestic and international direct and indirect tax issues in connection with business expansion, restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, tax audits, etc.
  • Identify, prioritize, develop, and implement strategies supporting the RTX effective tax rate and cash mobilization objectives.
  • Manage assigned projects and provide overall guidance, as well as tax technical oversight for assigned planning projects.
  • Support business on tax issues related to customer and supplier transactions including review and negotiation of material contracts.
  • Identify and manage transfer pricing and other foreign or domestic tax risks associated with cross border activities, including foreign-to-foreign transactions.
  • Support and drive ongoing discipline and improvements associated with project management and CORE efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with corporate and business unit functions, and outside advisors.
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders throughout the business.

Required Qualifications

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of US international tax concepts, including international mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, transfer pricing, outbound transfers, indirect taxes, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F and foreign tax credits
  • Knowledge of general tax principles which may impact a multi-national manufacturing company providing services globally
  • General understanding of ASC 740 tax accounting skills
  • Research and writing skills including experience drafting tax positions and agreements
  • Quantitative analysis skills including ability to review and analyze financial models
  • Experience with intangible, service and financing transactions a plus
  • Ability to identify and evaluate local foreign tax issues, such as permanent establishment issues, indirect taxes and withholding taxes
  • Position requires the ability to potentially travel internationally to support business needs and work a flexible work schedule occasionally beyond usual business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or Tax
  • CPA
  • Experience gained in public accounting and/or a large international tax department of a global corporation

Experience and Education

  • This role Typically requires a bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related discipline and 10 years of experience to include at least 5 years of international tax planning experience gained in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment OR an advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience
