Raytheon Self Protect Systems creates some of the most advanced radar protection systems in the world. Join the team that supports and tests these state-of-the-art systems protecting our war fighters. The successful candidate is inspired, organized, collaborative, and adaptable. This position requires the successful candidate to be on site daily in Goleta California.
Test Technicians work in a production environment using testing techniques to evaluate circuit boards, electromechanical modules, and RF Payloads and systems. The candidate will have excellent communications skills, work well in active multitasking team environments with competing goals from multiple programs and organizations. Technicians are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, smock, and gloves. All work will be done on 1st shift although test specifically has some team members that will be on 2nd shift. This is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) position. Over time is frequently required.
Due to the classified and export sensitive nature of the processes, materials and technical data, all candidates must be a https://U.S. person and be able to obtain and maintain a secret DOD clearance within 12 months of starting.
Qualifications:
8 years of experience specially RF Systems Testing and Troubleshooting.
Prior use of a microscope and hand-held instruments like, tweezers, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches.
Demonstrated knowledge of using any or multiple test equipment: Network and Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Signal Generators, Power Meters, or Digital Multimeters.
Familiarity with fiber optic cables and devices.
Experience handling electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive items. Testing of high voltage items and know safety protocols.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Ability to move up to 20 lbs. and manipulate items while sitting or standing.
The ability to obtain and maintain a https://U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
https://U.S. Citizenship is required as only https://U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications we value:
Able to be in a stationary position, install, move, and push carts for long periods of time.
Understand Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and FOD reduction/prevention methods.
The ability to use a computer to access work instructions, make technical calculations as part of test, timekeeping, perform data entry and complete on-line training.
Education: Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience. Associate degree in electronics and 8 years equivalent military experience is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 46,000 USD - 110,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
