    Raytheon currently has an exciting IT systems administrator position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking an experienced Windows/Linux System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The System Administrator must possess a Secret security clearance as they will be responsible for administering systems that contain classified data

    The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation move support.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment. 

    • Demonstrating understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

    • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Using troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

    • Applying acumen related to data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Installation and configuration of software applications as requested by end users.  

    • Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and related tasks as assigned. 

    • Must have Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification (SEC+ or higher)

    • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

    Qualifications You Must Have:  

    • Active Secret US security clearance. US citizenship is required in order to be eligible for a security clearance.

    • Experience with, but not limited to, the following technologies:  Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Symantec Endpoint Protection, BackupExec, NetBackup.  

    • Prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites is desirable.

    • Expertise with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods to be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation for a variety of technical problems.

    • Competence using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, VDI, Windows desktops (Windows XP, 7, 10), Splunk and Tenable, and NetApp.

    Qualifications We Value: 

    • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification 

    • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF 

    • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions 

    • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development 

    • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange

    • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment 

    • Experience with Splunk, VMWare, SolarWinds, Ansible, Sentris, RSA, Thales, or TGS is a plus

    • Scripting Experience

    Education Requirement:

    Typically, a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and 7 years of relevant experience

    The salary range for this role is 103,000 USD - 215,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
