    Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is seeking a Software Architect/Principal Software Engineer. This position is hybrid with occasional onsite work in Aurora, CO.

    Life with Raytheon Intelligence and Space

    In this role, you will be a part of fast paced, highly collaborative, team of talented software engineers who often work remotely. You will get to help develop a common ground solution to fly a heterogeneous constellation of satellites, including SmallSats. You will also get to work with advanced software technologies and architectures.

    This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $15K for a person with a TS/SCI clearance that can be verified and hired here at Raytheon Intelligence & Space.

    Required Skills 

    • Domain knowledge in Satellite Ground Control, Command and Telemetry, Antenna Control, Mission Planning, Ground Equipment Control

    • Experience with Microservices architecture

    • Experience with full life cycle of software development – requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment

    • Experience with Linux, Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, Docker, K8s/Helm, Postgres, Fortify

    • Experience with DevOps methodology using BitBucket and Bamboo pipelines, Cucumber and Gherkin automated tests.

    • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology using Jira and Confluence

    • Ability to help developers understand the designs and to mentor through code reviews and design meetings.

    • Ability to prototype and problem solve (hands on keyboard)

    • Experience with determining most efficient FOSS/COTS for a design.

    • Great communication skills – capable of working with individual developers, fellow technical leads, and management.

    • Security+ certification required or ability to attain.

    • An active and in-scope Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. security clearance

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • 8 years of relevant experience and a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) bachelor’s degree are typically needed for this role. A master’s degree in a STEM field may be substituted for 2 years of work experience. Non-degreed professionals with demonstrated skills and relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

    The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
