The Tactical, Communications, and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team based in Huntsville, Alabama has new opportunities for individuals who want to grow their technical expertise on complex programs and be a part of an innovative and fast-paced avionics business area. Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. Our team focuses on creating avionics solutions for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of various radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international military customers.
Role Overview
We are looking for an entry level Engineer, disciplined in Software Engineering to join our TCMA team in Huntsville, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Agile software engineering processes and activities.
Job Responsibilities
Design, implement, and evaluate software in Ada and Python within the Agile framework
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with other engineers in the planning, design, development of military technology
Work closely with cross-functional research teams to evaluate the effectiveness of early software prototypes
Independently perform multiple tasks given support from a mentor
Implement requirements, detailed design, implementing software, integration, and verification in accordance with software development processes.
Accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions
Enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment.
Required Qualifications
US Citizenship is required. Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.
Familiarity with design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada and Python.
Ability to successfully contribute in collaborative, cross-domain development environments
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, works well with others
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Agile software development cycle
