ACTT Engineering is responsible for all product line and engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of Air Combat Training systems, maturing products from concept phase through accreditation and factory production.
Primary Responsibilities:
Our ACTT Datalink team is looking for a dynamic Software Engineer to expand the capabilities of our advanced Test & Training Datalink and help develop innovative solutions to our department’s testing and tools infrastructure. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

As a Software Engineer in this organization, you will have the opportunity to:
Work on all phases of the software development life cycle using Agile software development practices following the Scaled Agile Framework
Develop innovative features and capabilities into our mobile ad-hoc (MANET) datalink using C++14 that enable next-generation test and training capabilities for 4th and 5th-generation military airborne platforms.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience with full life cycle OOA/D software development using C++.
Experience with networking protocols and standards.
Experience with configuration management tools and processes.
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python and Java programming languages
Experience working in Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.).
Experience with multi-threaded real-time embedded applications
Knowledge and cognizance of Live Virtual Constructive concepts
Able to investigate problems to the root cause and then champion the creation and implementation of corrective actions.
Experience with Agile development methodology
Good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment
Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while balancing priorities and schedules
Motivated self-starter with strong analytical skills
