Software Engineering Systems Analyst (Remote)

Role Overview:

Digital Technology is looking for a motivated Systems Administrator responsible for support of cloud-enabled engineering applications. This role will work closely with engineering customers, vendor subject matter experts, enterprise architects and infrastructure to support impactful changes to the Collins enterprise engineering tool portfolio.  Enterprise Tools consists of Mechanical CAD, Electrical CAD, ALM, PLM, analysis, and math software tools. Our digital focus is geared towards transforming our engineering tools and services to help our employees and customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to end-users who need assistance utilizing cloud-based services

• Collaborate with CyberSecurity, Networking, Application Teams and Developers to provide customer support for DevSecOps toolchains and reusable pipelines, and containerized applications based on requirements and existing services.

• Work with other teams and end-user communities for configuration and updates of software

• Configure and Troubleshoot Technical Security Controls per company policy and/or Customer requirements

• Administrative support for reviewing security log scans and engaging with other teams to support reviews and audits

• Create and Modify User Accounts and Associated Access Controls

• Creating, editing, and reviewing technical support documentation

• General knowledge and adherence to Agile Methodology and Practices.

• Support Product Monitoring and Metrics for continuous feedback loops.

• Monitor and Analyze Performance Usage.

• Implement Alerting and Escalations.

• This role may require minimal domestic travel, less than 5%. Travel is generally well-planned.

• Must be willing and able to learn new technologies as this position will be responsible for a full range of information systems

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR

• In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hybrid (virtual and on-premises) infrastructure and enterprise applications using Windows and Linux platforms (Windows Server, Active Directory, SAML, Virtualization, RHEL, Debian, etc.)

• Demonstrated experience with time management in order to meet deadlines

• Five years of experience in one or more of the following:

• Hands on cloud architecture experience with Azure and/or AWS (preference for both).

• OpenShift, Kubernetes a plus

• Terraform and Ansible a plus

• GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent CI/CD tools a plus

• Python, java, or other development/scripting automation language

• Creating, modifying and deleting user accounts and groups

• Troubleshooting networking issues

• Docker and Containerization applications

• Windows and Linux OS

• Active Directory, SAML, OAuth, OpenID and other strong authentication technologies

• Tenable Security Center, Nessus

• Independent, self-motivated, and willing/able to learn through on-the-job training and documentation

• Able to work within a team and foster teamwork and trust from all customers

• Excellent written, verbal communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Familiarity with Agile operating model, practices, and expectations

• Good understanding of Engineering Support processes with the ability to provide a logical, in-depth analysis of a problem or a situation.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present concepts clearly.
