Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Mechanical or Systems Engineer for their organization responsible for the lubrication and thermal management of commercial and military gas turbine engines.
This position offers opportunities for cross-discipline collaboration within Pratt & Whitney, direct interaction with high-level internal and external customers, and a wide variety of non-repetitive engineering analyses.
Executing lubrication and thermal management system models.
Developing system models for new engine programs
Specification of performance requirements for system components and requirements for controls logic
Specifying engine validation test plans, interpreting test data, and calibrating models based on results.
Contribute to root cause investigations and troubleshooting for in-service and development engine programs by processing full flight "big data" and executing lubrication and thermal management system models.
Summarize system status to requirements.
Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience and minimum 5+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering, minimum 3 years’ experience.
Candidate must understand heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
US Citizenship or US Person Status required due to government contract.
Travel at 5%
Ability to obtain security clearance is required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in system-level analysis tools (e.g., Dymola, MATLAB, Simulink, Easy5)
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other coding languages
