    Job Summary

    RMD has an opening for a Senior Manager, Contracts in the Advanced Sensors (AS), Program Area Directorate (PAD) within RMD’s Advanced Technology (AT) organization. This group focuses on key pursuits as well as development efforts that serve as the growth engine and front of the business, critical to the future growth of RMD.  

    The individual in this role will have primary responsibility for Advanced Sensor (AS) Strategic Partnerships, Intellectual Property (IP) monetization, and licensing opportunities.  This role will also manage one (1) to two (2) direct reports, providing day-to-day and strategic Contracts leadership for multiple AS portfolios within Advanced Sensors.  There is a significant amount of competitive pursuit and Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) activity within this role. 

    Please note that this role is intended to be hybrid, working regularly both offsite and onsite for regular in-person engagement at RMD’s facilities in the greater Boston, MA area.  Ratio for time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:

    • Develop Intellectual Property and investment strategy
    • Support licensing/teaming collaborations
    • Evaluate non-standard investments
    • Negotiate strategic partnership agreements
    • Support the professional development of one (1) to two (2) direct reports, to include workload assignment, training opportunities, performance reviews and mentoring
    • Advise management of contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks
    • Provide guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues
    • Work closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to construct, submit, and negotiate pricing proposals
    • Analyze Request for Proposals (RFPs)
    • Ensure that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies
    • Conduct proposal reviews and coordinate customer responses
    • Negotiate contracts
    • Review Estimates at Completion (EAC)
    • Support program management and execution reviews
    • Provide general contract administration support

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of prior relevant experience OR an advanced degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience OR in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required. 
    • Prior experience with US Government contracts
    • "Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date". "U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance."

    Qualifications We Value:

    • An active and in-scope Top Secret DoD security clearance
    • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
    • Experience managing development contracts
    • Experience with competitive contracts
    • Team leader experience, including coaching and mentoring experience
    • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and risk quantification
    • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
    • Experience working is a fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective
    • Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills
    • Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals
    • Related contract administration experience including hands-on proposal preparation and contract negotiations with the US Department of Defense (DoD)
    • Experience with US Government and US Prime Contractor customers as well as end-user communities in the development and acquisition of major systems
    • Familiarity with Other Transaction Agreements, Intellectual Property, license agreements, or teaming agreements
    • Juris Doctor or MBA a plus

    This position requires the ability to maintain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and drug involvement.
