Job Summary:
The Pratt & Whitney Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) team is looking for a Design and Structures manager to lead a team supporting aftermarket and sustainment activities for multiple operational military engine models. The manager will supervise staff performing mechanical design and structural analyses of jet engine hardware. The manager will work with Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) customers as well as other functional disciplines, both inside and outside of the MSEN module center, to provide solutions for P&W’s operational military engine projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and represent the Design & Structures discipline on multiple CIPT Leadership teams
Identify customer needs and develop staffing solutions to achieve project objectives
Provide design and structural analysis technical guidance & proficiency mentorship to junior staff
Ensure task scope and engineering approach are aligned with customer intent, funding, schedule and task requirements
Provide clear communication on task priority and help balance other priorities
Adjust task assignments, as necessary, to meet customer needs
Drive organizational change using standard work, turnback tracking, and other continuous improvement tools
Candidate must be able to work in Oklahoma City at the P&W facility and the Tinker AFB complex
Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Typical travel will not exceed 10% of the calendar year.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
10+ years of relevant experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field with 7+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural engineering
Experience in mechanical design & structural analysis of complex aerospace, automotive, or industrial equipment
Experience with Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, SURCK and SimCenter
Experience with mechanical design using Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM software
Experience with aerospace bearings, seals, static structures, plumbing systems, and mechanical accessories like gearboxes and pumps
Proven ability to work in a cross functional and multi-location teaming environment including suppliers, peers, and customers to overcome technical and program challenges
Ability to effectively communicate with all leadership levels within an organization and with external suppliers and customers
Experience in Agile product development framework
Prior supervisory experience
