    Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Sr. Methods and Tools Engineer to join our Systems Engineering Methods Team in our Engineering Tools & Methods department.  The Methods and Tools Engineer will be responsible for contributing to and leading the development, deployment, and maintenance of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.  This includes development of system architecture modeling patterns and reusable model element libraries for the design and verification of gas turbine engines, development of tools and methods to establish traceability across requirements, design, analysis, and test as well as development of methods for integrating analysis tools to support the verification of system design, and providing user support to a large user community of systems engineers and troubleshooting MBSE model issues.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop new methods and tools to expand and mature MBSE capabilities for gas turbine engine systems engineering activities.
    • Enhance current tools for better user experience (improved GUI, execution speed, switch over to state-of-the-art coding practices).
    • Prepare, maintain, or update documentation of MBSE methods and tools.
    • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify opportunities to apply MBSE methodology and tools.
    • Works autonomously with limited oversight & may provide guidance to lower experienced professionals with tasks and assignments.
    • Exhibit the ownership for the defined milestones in terms of schedules & quality of deliverables.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or in a related engineering degree and 5+ years of prior relevant modeling base systems engineering experience , OR
    • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science or in a related engineering degree and 3+ years of prior relevant modeling base systems engineering experience.
    • US Citizenship status due to government programs.
    • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance.
    • Travel up 5%.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Active US Government Security Clearance.
    • Experience with implementing MBSE methodology and tools.
    • Proficiency in the SysML modeling language.
    • Proficiency in an object-oriented program language.
    • Experience creating System Architecture models in Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.
    • Experience using Teamwork Cloud and Cameo Collaborator.
    • Experience using Cameo Datahub.
    • Experience programming with Java, C++, or Python.
    • Experience implementing engineering processes using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
    • Experience working with Requirements Management tools such as DOORS.
    • Experience with integration of system simulation tools.
    • Experience with Modelica-based simulation tools.
    • Experience working in an agile environment.
    • Good communication skills and working as a team player
    • Possesses excellent judgement and professional maturity
    • Strong learner and provides creative solutions
