Vertex is growing! We are looking for a highly skilled RF Design Engineer to join our team of innovative thinkers wishing to work with emerging technologies on tactical defense solutions recognized around the world.
The Senior Principal RF Design Engineer will join our Electrical Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN, possessing expert level knowledge in design of complex RF system architectures, circuit designs and layouts. This position is for a very experienced engineer who can provide leadership, mentoring and support to our programs on a part time basis. This position will support our team in Indianapolis, IN, however remote work will be considered for the right candidate.
Required Skills:
Minimum thirty (30) years of related experience required
Broad based technical background with the ability to lead complex technical programs
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Ability to strategize the development complex RF system architectures and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for RF corporate RF related issues
Technical leadership capabilities, includes the ability to lead the resolution of tough technical challenges
Experience with RF circuit design and layouts
Experience working with the front end of the business; working with business development to capture new work
Proven experience leading front end of the business type programs
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance and US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
Experience working HADR and APG-73 Era Systems
Advanced technical degree
Knowledge of design practices
Ability to assimilate inputs from multiple sources and derive design and operational requirements
Capability to apply robust design principles
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline
Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have deep knowledge of project management. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and
ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs
or systems.
Typically requires:
A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years
prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree
in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited
by local laws/regulations.
