Pratt & Whitney is working to, once again, transform the future of flight—designing, building and servicing engines unlike any the world has ever seen. Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) is looking for a Lead Repair Design Engineer (RDE) to support all Commercial Engine Rotor Overhaul and Repair. This position focuses on evaluating non-conforming hardware reported by our customers and shops, followed by authoring required technical data for repair execution. The selected candidate will design these repairs, establish milestone plans, and will be responsible for the coordination of external/internal approvals, including FAA regulatory approval, and repair source approval requirements if necessary. This position provides a great opportunity to have a tangible effect on P&W’s aftermarket business and impact on P&W’s airline customers. This position requires innovative and collaborative engineering skills along with onsite office and shop floor hands-on experience. Significant interaction with internal and external customers as well as other engineering disciplines is expected; excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The Lead RDE will work closely with other ASE and OEM Design and Structures Leads, and other engineering disciplines to make the necessary technical decisions and repair design that meet the safety, quality, and customer needs. Management and organization will also provide expert guidance and support of career growth, proficiency development, identifying future opportunities, and employee well-being.
